Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when accessing or using the HISAR platform, website and services (the "Platform"). It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the Platform.

1. Overview

HISAR provides AI-based geospatial intelligence, locating images, verifying them against satellite imagery, and tracking change over time. Because these capabilities can identify places and detect activity, responsible use is essential. By using the Platform you agree to use it only as permitted by this Policy and by applicable law.

2. Your responsibilities

• Use the Platform only for lawful, authorised purposes.
• Keep your credentials confidential and do not share your access.
• Ensure you have the rights and permissions for any content you upload.
• Comply with all laws that apply to you, including privacy and data-protection law.

3. Prohibited activities

You must not:

• Break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of others;
• Probe, scan or test the security of the Platform without authorisation, or bypass authentication, rate limits or access controls;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code or models;
• Introduce malware or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Platform;
• Scrape, harvest or bulk-export data except through features provided for that purpose;
• Resell, sublicense or provide access to the Platform without our written permission.

4. Prohibited content & data

You must not upload, submit or process:

• Content you do not own or have permission to use;
• Material that is unlawful, infringing, or that violates someone's privacy;
• Special-category or sensitive personal data unless you have a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.

5. Responsible use of geospatial intelligence

Because the Platform can locate imagery and detect change, you must not use it to:

• Conduct unlawful surveillance, stalking, harassment or intimidation of any individual;
• Endanger the safety of any person, or target individuals on the basis of protected characteristics;
• Violate privacy rights or applicable surveillance laws.

You are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful, proportionate and ethical. Outputs are analytical estimates and must be independently verified before any decision is made.

6. Export control & sanctions

You must comply with all applicable export-control, trade-sanctions and embargo laws. You must not access or use the Platform if you are subject to relevant sanctions, and you must not use it on behalf of, or for the benefit of, a sanctioned party or a restricted end-use, without the required authorisation.

7. System integrity & fair use

Use the Platform reasonably. Do not place an unreasonable load on our systems, automate requests beyond documented limits, or take any action that degrades or disrupts the service for other users.

8. Reporting abuse

If you become aware of any violation of this Policy, including misuse of the Platform or a security vulnerability, please report it promptly to [email protected].

9. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action we consider appropriate, including notifying the relevant authorities where required by law. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent termination of access.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
